DESCRIPTION:The 8th Annual Betty Bloomer Ford Cancer Rehabilitation Conference organized by Mary Free Bed Education Academy will be held Thursday\, April 20\, 2023 at the Mary Free Bed Professional Building. This year’s conference will bring together expert inter-professional faculty presenting important topics which are aimed to give the professionals evidence-based information about providing patient-centered care for cancer patients. These topics include: \n\nDecision making in children and adolescents with cancer\nLifestyle changes for cancer patients\nUtilizing a comprehensive oncology rehabilitation approach\nCounseling patients experiencing financial toxicity\nStretching and strengthening techniques\nManaging body image concerns after cancer treatment\nSurvivability\n\nTarget Audience\nPhysicians • nurses/nurse practitioners • physician assistants • occupational\, physical\, recreational and speech therapists • social workers • exercise physiologists • rehabilitation program administrators • rehabilitation specialists • case managers • registered dietitian nutritionist • residents • students • other professionals involved in cancer care \nOutcomes\nAttendees will be able to discuss issues regarding decision making in children and adolescents with cancer\, counseling patients experiencing financial toxicity and utilizing a comprehensive oncology rehabilitation approach.
