We will showcase a wheelchair accessible vehicle and be available to answer any questions about wheelchair accessible vehicle modifications\, as well as grants and funding resources available to assist with purchasing a wheelchair van. \nThe event will occur at the Kent County Health Department in the Annex parking lot\, directly behind the main building at 700 Fuller Avenue NE\, from 5 pm to 7 pm. Please RSVP by July 31\, 2024\, by emailing CSHCS@kentcountymi.gov or calling 616-632-7066. \n\nAbout Kent County Children’s Special Healthcare Services\nChildren’s Special Health Care Services (CSHCS) is a program within the Kent County Health Department and the Michigan Department of Community Health. It is for children and some adults with special health care needs and their families. The program offers medical care and treatment assistance for children with chronic\, severe\, disabling health problems; it also provides service coordination to meet child and family needs. Eligibility is based on the child’s diagnosis\, severity\, and treatment plan—NOT income. Many families with CSHCS coverage have private insurance. CSHCS provides additional help to these families. A sliding fee scale determines the cost of the program. (In other words\, the fee is determined by your income and household size.) This fee is waived if the individual applying is enrolled in Medicaid or MI Child.

Bridging the gap between therapy and orthotics regarding AFO selection as well as research updates on capacity versus performance will be included. The focus of this year’s event is physical and metnal fitness. \nOpen to all wheelchair users\, the event will provide attendees with the opportunity for: \n\nPeer mentoring/motivation\nAdapted Tai Chi\nAt-home adapted work out instruction\nMassages\nWheelchair cleaning/repairs.\n\nAdditionally\, representatives from The Creative Mobility Group will available to answer questions about wheelchair accessible vehicles and driving with adaptive eqiupment. \nRegister by Wednesday\, August 23\, 2023 to be guaranteed to receive a free t-shirt. To be eligible for raffle prizes\, arrive no later than 12 pm. RIM’s Rolling with Confidence is free and open to all wheelchair users; however\, there is a $10 charge for a caregiver lunch. SUMMARY:Lori's Voice Golf Outing – 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Creative Mobility Group is proud to be an Event Host Sponsor of the 2023 Lori’s Voice Golf Outing! \nSince its inception\, the Lori’s Voice Golf Outing has raised over $60\,000! This year\, Lori’s Voice is aiming for even bigger numbers with even more participants to raise awareness about the amazing mission their organization promotes. This is a fun event and is open to all skill levels. It’s sure to be a great time supporting an even greater cause. \nSimilar to the format of past years\, the event will be an 18-hole\, 4-person scramble with a shotgun start in the afternoon. The event will be held at Western Greens Golf Course on Friday September 15\, 2023. Tee time will be at 2:00 PM with registration starting approximately one hour and 15 minutes before tee off. Cost of entry is $300 per team. \nEvent Registration Includes \n\n18 holes of golf with a cart\nMeal/snack upon registration\nLunch at the turn\nGoodie bag\nTerrific meal to close out the event\n\nIn addition to an fun afternoon of golf\, there will be a raffle with great prizes\, a 50/50 raffle\, golf-based side games\, and many other events on and off the course!  \nIf you have any quuestions about the event\, would like to volunteer\, or donate raffle items\, please reach out to Michelle Vlug at Lori’s Voice. \nAbout Lori’s Voice\nLori’s Voice is a non-profit organization based in West Michigan that provides assistance and support to children with special needs and their families. The organization was founded by Lori Hastings\, who was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy as a child and wanted to make a difference in the lives of other children with disabilities. \nLori’s Voice offers several programs and services to children with special needs\, including financial assistance for medical equipment and services\, grants for wheelchair accessible van modifications\, scholarships for college-bound students with disabilities\, and educational programs to promote awareness and understanding of disabilities.

In addition to assisting MPVA programs\, this fundraiser will also support a Veterans Day moving screening and luncheon for MPVA members. \nThe Creative Mobility Group is proud to be a Hole Sponsor of the 2023 MPVA Salute to Veterans Golf Tournament. \n\nAbout MPVA\nThe mission of the Michigan Paralyzed Veterans of America (MPVA) is to enhance the quality of lives of veterans with spinal cord injury or disease\, as well as all citizens with disabilities\, by: \n\nAdvocating for civil rights\nAssuring quality health care\nSupporting continued recreation\, research\, education and healthy living\n\nMPVA is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that operates according the standards and practices established by Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA).
