Join us for the inaugural Disability Dune Day!

Disability Dune Day, hosted by Wheels in Motion in collaboration with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR), will take place on September 11, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Silver Lake State Park in Mears, Michigan! The event promises an exhilarating afternoon of four-wheeling adventures designed to be inclusive and welcoming for everyone in the disability community.

Building on the success of Disability Dirt Days, a beloved event co-hosted by Oakland County Parks Adaptive Recreation and the Disability Network Eastern Michigan, Disability Dune Day takes the action to the stunning dunes of Silver Lake. Here, participants will experience the thrill of off-roading in Side-by-Sides (SXS), Jeeps, Broncos, Buggies, and even Sand Rails, driven by experienced volunteers, some of whom are passionate members of the disabled community themselves. Rest assured, the event organizers have stringent safety measures in place to ensure a fun and secure experience for all.

This unique event is more than just an adrenaline rush—it’s an opportunity to connect with others, enjoy the great outdoors, and create unforgettable memories. Whether you’re an off-roading enthusiast or new to the experience, Disability Dune Day offers something for everyone. Additionally, due to the strategic timing of the event, you’ll be able to enjoy a legendary Silver Lake sunset, renowned as one of the most beautiful in the world.
