Symposium Overview
Quality of life post-injury is the primary goal of people with spinal cord injuries and those who care for them. Mary Free Bed Education Academy’s 2023 Spinal Cord Injury Symposium brings together experts in the field to discuss key topics including:

  • Respiratory exercises and techniques for secretion management and respiratory muscle training
  • Breathing techniques for pain relief, digestion, and reducing anxiety
  • Patient education after spinal cord injury, addressing urologic dysfunction, and pain management strategies.

All participants will benefit from the presentations on advancing technology for people with disabilities, utilizing recreation for fitness and well-being for SCI patients and an update on Auto No-Fault laws impacting the patient and caregivers.

Outcomes
As a result of attending the 2023 Spinal Cord Injury Symposium, learners will be able to explain respiratory exercises and techniques for secretion management and respiratory muscle training, as well as how to utilize breathing techniques for pain relief, digestion and reducing anxiety. Attendees will be able to describe patient education after spinal cord injury. They will also learn to pain management strategies and how to address urologic dysfunction. Additionally, all participants will be able to identify advances in technology for people with disabilities, indicate how to utilize recreation for fitness and well-being for SCI patients, and describe how Auto No-Fault laws impact patients and caregivers.
