HOW IT WORKS
ARRIVING TO GRAND RAPIDS AIRPORT
Upon your arrival to Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR), a Rental Agent will meet you with your wheelchair accessible van outside of Baggage Claim. One day prior to your arrival, we will provide you with the phone number to contact your Rental Agent .
Your Rental Agent can assist you with loading your luggage and will provide you with training on how to properly use the wheelchair ramp and securement tie-downs. You will also complete a vehicle inspection and sign your final paperwork prior to departing from the airport with your wheelchair accessible rental van.
DEPARTING FROM GRAND RAPIDS AIRPORT
Prior to your departure from Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR), you will meet a Rental Agent at your preferred meeting location. Your Rental Agent will then drive you in your rental van from the meeting location to the airport. Upon arrival to the airport terminal, your Rental Agent can assist you with unloading your luggage at Departures.
We will schedule your meeting time and location based on your preference when booking your reservation. Please note, Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority recommends arriving 2 hours prior to your scheduled departure.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Additional fees apply to have your wheelchair accessible rental van delivered to Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR). If you are not traveling to Michigan via the airport, you should book your wheelchair accessible rental van to be picked up from one of our four Michigan locations. Or you can request to have your rental delivered to you (additional fees apply, based on availability).

WHEELCHAIR VAN TYPES
We offer side-entry and rear-entry wheelchair accessible vans for rental at Gerald R. Ford International Ariport (GRR). We also have wheelchair rental vans that are equipped with adaptive driving equipment such as hand controls and driver transfer seat base. While a side-entry lowered-floor minivan is our most common rental vehicle and will work in most cases, your Rental Coordinator can help you determine what type of wheelchair van rental will best meet your needs.
Side-Entry Vans
A side-entry wheelchair accessible van rental features a lowered-floor conversion that provides extra interior headroom for a passenger using a wheelchair. The wheelchair ramp deploys from the passenger-side sliding door for convenient entry and exit. In addition to a wheelchair-accessible mid-row position, the front-passenger position is also wheelchair accessible. With a variety of seating configurations, a side-entry wheelchair van rental can seat up to 6 occupants.
Rear-Entry Vans
A rear-entry wheelchair accessible van rental features a fold-out ramp and a lowered center-floor area that allows wheelchair access behind the driver and front-passenger seats. The front-passenger position is not wheelchair accessible in a rear-entry van. With multiple seating layouts available, a rear-entry wheelchair van rental can accommodate up to 5 occupants.
Hand Controls
We offer side-entry wheelchair accessible rental vans equipped with adaptive driving equipment, including a 6-way transfer seat in the driver position, hand controls, and a spinner knob steering device. If you need your wheelchair van rental to include hand controls or other adaptive driving equipment, please notify your Rental Coordinator so we can confirm the equipment will meet your needs.

RESERVATION CHECKLIST

- Current driver's license for all drivers
- Auto insurance card with agent's name and contact information
- Flight information
- Debit card or major credit card to hold the reservation ($100 deposit required)
- Special requests or accommodations for a wide or tall wheelchair
Once your wheelchair van rental reservation is confirmed, your driver's license and auto insurance card can be uploaded online or emailed to rentals@creativemobilitygroup.com.
PAYMENT & DEPOSIT POLICY
A reservation deposit of $100 must be provided to secure a reservation. Your reservation deposit can be paid with a credit card or debit card. Accepted credit cards include: American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa.
24 hours prior to the start of a reservation, we will process a payment for the full amount due using the payment method provided at the time of booking.
If a debit card has been provided for payment, an additional $250 will be authorized and held as a security deposit during your rental.
CANCELLATION POLICY
A full refund is provided if a reservation is cancelled by 8 am the day prior to the start of the reservation. Any cancellation notice received after this time would result in a $75 cancellation fee.

ASSISTANCE & SERVICE ANIMALS
Guide dogs and service animals are welcome in all public areas of the passenger terminal building of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR). An animal relief area with wheelchair accessibility is available in the west end of the terminal curb front. Please be advised that assistance animals are required to be screened when entering the sterile area of the terminal.

WHEELCHAIR ASSISTANCE
Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) provides a variety of options to assist wheelchair users throughout the airport. Wheelchairs are available for guest use, and airline personnel will be happy to assist passengers with boarding and exiting the aircraft. It is always best to arrange for wheelchair assistance at time of booking so that the airline communicates the information with airline and airport personnel across the entire travel route.
To request wheelchair assistance at Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR), call (616) 550-7643 in advance of arrival and speak with a representative of Prospect Airport Services. Or upon arrival at the airport, go to the airline's ticket counter or to the Visitor Information Desk in the baggage claim area, or request a page for a Passenger Service Assistant and wheelchair assistance from a curb front security officer.
An elevator is available on the north side of the main hall for those who would like to visit the observation deck on the mezzanine level or those visiting the Airport Authority offices.

- Listed rates for wheelchair van rentals include 100 miles/day and are based on pickup and return at same CMG location within 24 hours from time of the scheduled reservation.
- Listed rate for the “Weekend Speical” wheelchair van rental includes 250 total miles. Rental reservation must begin after 2pm on Friday and end before 9am on Monday to be eligible for Weekend Special.
- Listed rates for wheelchair van rentals are subject to 6% state use tax and do not include applicable airport pickup/delivery fees. Rates based on rental of a wheelchair accessible vehicle (Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Grand Caravan, Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey, or similar). Rate will be provided before a reservation is confirmed. Additional charges may apply for optional accessories. Vehicles must be returned with the same amount of fuel as they were checked out with or a $25 refueling surcharge will apply in addition to the cost to refuel. Vans returned over the allowable miles will be charged $0.35 per mile. Rates are subject to change without notice.
